15 July 2008 – According to the latest UNMIK report, 853 people have been forcibly repatriated to Kosovo between January and April 2008. The largest number of deportees came from Germany, from where 208 people were forcibly deported.
According to UNMIK, the number of forced repatriations decreased compared to the same period last year, when 961 were forcibly returned to Kosovo. In 2007, 3,125 individuals were repatriated to Kosovo, the year before 3,598 were victims of forced repatriations.
The report does not provide any information on the ethnic origin of the deportees.
