“This report provides an overview of the main challenges facing Roma displaced persons (DP) and returnees in their efforts to find durable solutions in Northern Bosnia and Herzegovina (NBiH). Generally, Roma returnees and displaced persons face more difficulties than other groups in re-establishing themselves. As assistance for reconstruction diminishes and the international community’s monitoring of the rights of DPs and returnees is gradually reduced, it is important that these outstanding issues are addressed in a more comprehensive manner.

Most displaced and returnee Roma live in settlements with domiciles. Therefore, the findings reported on normally refer to the Roma population in general, as they share similar problems in the post war context in NBiH.”
